Well, so far the only canadien provider I have seen that seems fair is yak, and I supose that you could maybe jailbrake the iPhone and use it with an other provider, but you would not be getting the full experience if you do that, and a data plan is ok, but only when it is enough, not 1 GB like rogers is giving. 30 may be reasonable, after all it is a mobile device, and a cool one if anything. And when you think, it is actualy worse than it sounds, cuz with the monthly accse charge that rogers has and more, you will easly be paying 200 a month, lilly more, but atleast there is one good thing that rogers did set up, and that is that they have a data cape of $ 100, or so I heard. But rogers should just realize that the more people that use the iPhone, the more money they will get, but not enough people will use it at what there charging.

Oh, forgot to mention, I don't actually have Voicemail on my account, I just included it in the price listing as the iPhone plan includes it.

Rogers iPhone:
Plan: $60
Caller ID: $7
Access fee: $6.95
Total: $73.95

Telus HTC Touch:
Voice: $25 (w/150 minutes; minimum rate for data plan)
SMS: $5 (100 outgoing messages, incoming+outgoing after August)
Caller ID: $7
Voicemail: $8
Data: $15 (unlimited but I only used 100 megs last month with frequent use)
Access fee: $6.95
Total: $65.95

I'm beginning to think that most of the people complaining about the data rates have never had a data device in Canada before. If I can get my current phone sold in time, I'll be getting an iPhone on July 11th.

For those heavy-use users who need unlimited data, I'm selling my Telus HTC Touch with 2-year (remaining) contract for $240 (with the plan I mentioned). You can find information and contact details on Kijiji or Facebook Marketplace, just search the St. John's network for it, but I'll also be in Toronto next week.
