Up here, on Long Island Ny, speeds vary depending on location. I have both the 3G and the new 3GS and the perform about the same going through the AT&T network.<br>Home WiFI is where you see the difference. I maxed out a 3G at 8MBS down and 5 MBS Up, and the 3GS at 15.5 MBS down and 5 MBS up. Cablevision of Long Island, provides speeds of up to 30 down and 5 up, which I pay for but they do vary depending on time of day and people on the network. The best thing is to run your test early AM when there's fewer people on.

Hey JMCD, what part of London did you get that at? I've got 3542 Kbits/s around York and Adelaide area. Glad to know that this is "normal", and that I guess 7.2MBPS is just if you are standing on top of a Rogers cell phone tower :) Regardless, this new iPhone 3GS is still fast as hell!!!!!!!!
