You are incorrect about the lack of roaming charges associated to the new $35 unlimited CA/US plan. According to Rogers, only the add on packs for Travel are free of roaming charges, and offer a discount on per minute charges.

You can use DataMan app to monitor your data use in real time. You can also define 4 custom usage thresholds. You will be notified when you exceed the thresholds. This will help to stop additional charges on your bill. You can find DataMan in the App Store.

I've been able to get the $10 add on despite the fact that no reps have any idea what I'm talking about. I called and gave them the link showing that there was a $10 add-on that would use my existing data package and not have any roaming charges. She put a note on my account and each time, I've had roaming charges, I called in to get them reversed after pointing out the note. Roundabout way to get what you want, but none of them knew how to set up the correct plan.

Basically, you have to keep the $10 add-on for a minimum of one billing cycle. Very handy to have this now that Skype can be used over 3G.

so the 2 big dogs, bell and rogers offer 5GB of data for $80, but if I have an iPad I can get the same 5GB for $35.. so now I want to use my iPad data plan for my 3G phone, and my 3G USB modem… yet I require a plan for each! Why?? 3G data is 3G data regardless of the device… this is device discrimination and unfair price manipulation for the same service. When are we going to get some real mobile services in Canada? Perhaps Videotron will forge new grounds… one can only hope, as if we aren't being robbed and taxed enough!!

I just tried to add one of these to my iphone b/c I'm going to be in the US for a few months, and I was told that it was not possible.

Extremely angry with Rogers right now.
