Are they going to try to ding a $35 administration fee. They did not indicate it on the FAQ. You know the dealers will charge an admin fee. Although, I suspect that dealers will probably only want to do new activations on Jun 19

@Shahbaz I haven't gotten it yet. I just picked up the $30 for 6gb data plan on a 3 year contract. I did it now because the manager that authorized it was going on vacation this weekend for the next 3 weeks so I had to get it today. I'll be getting the iPhone on September 14th.

SO DjDatz in total how much did you pay for the iPhone? and how much are you going to be paying monthly :) sorry if this is annoying :P

You can do what vic said, but as soon as you downgrade your plan you'll be charged $50. It's in the not-so-fine print.

Corporate plans are a 6 month minimum for the HUP... I've been told this countless times, so it must be true. I just picked up the $30 for 6gb on my current phone so I can get deal. Unfortunately, I won't be getting my iPhone until Sept. 14th because of my mandatory 6 months. There is NO way to get it earlier except getting a new number or paying over $200 in ECFs...BS.

Here's a tip. Call into rogers, upgrade your voice plan to a $35 voice plan. Then go into retail and do the HUP make sure your into your current contract at least 3 months. The retailers pc will give you the phone at 199 or 299 whatever model you get. After your phone is activated call rogers, and downgrade your voice plan again.

You just saved yourself $50.

can someone help me understand, i payed 350 2 weeks ago for my iphone, so i called rogers and asked about this promo and asked if i could get a credit, they said what promo are you talking about your crazy, goodbye, am i getting dicked around, or do i just not understand they way this works, someone please dumb it down for me

ps..its cause im on a corporate plan as well with RBC... my bill is exactly 25$ a month

I had the same problem...I was told to fork over 600 for the white 16 gig...but it didnt take them that long to tell me...as soon as I asked they told me...which angered me as well...600!..."cheaper iPhone"...Steve...your nose is growing....Pinocchio...

Great. :'( Went to Rogers and they had JUST (like the girl chuckled and said "literally right now") received black 16's in, and I was a day short of 3 months (which I don't understand...). [I started my plan on March 14th, and I'm only eligible for the 3 month promotion as of August 14th? Someone has their math wrong...]

So, I was told to call customer care, and see if I could get this bumped up by a day. Got customer care instantly as it was the phone in the Rogers store. Talked to the lady for about 45 seconds, and she said I needed to talk to the corporate part. (I have a corporate plan so that was understandable.) So I sit on hold for over 10 minutes, and get some guy who essentially tells me the same thing as the girl except that I need Corporate HARDWARE UPGRADES. So he transfers me there.

The woman at Corporate Hardware Upgrades sounded like she knew her stuff, but knowing people on the other hand, she could have easily been mis-informed. She essentially tells me these things:
- For corporate accounts the minimum time is 6 months before you can upgrade to the iPhone and the iPhone ONLY, does not apply to any other phones. The odd thing about this is she quoted 6 months as being September 14th! So August 14th is "after" a 3 month wait and September 14th is "after" a 6 month wait?! Yea, someone does have their maths fuxx0red, and I think it's the boys in the store...lol Then again, they were telling me their computer ISN'T letting them access the upgrade menu...I would trust that more than some old lady...
- The normal renewal cycle for my account is 24 months (which is how long my contract is), and each of those months that I get the iPhone before, I have to pay $10 per. So, after "3" months I'd have to pay $210, and after "6" months I'd have to pay $180, ON TOP of the iPhone, $50 extra charge for my plan not being over $30, and admin fee. Which I have a distinct feeling was COMPLETELY wrong. In this case, I'd be looking at a MINIMUM price of $349 + $35 + $180 +13% = $637.32 PLUS a 3 year contract. BULLSHIT!!!
- It took her 6 minutes to add those things up.

After that I left the store, in a quite pissed off mood.

I'll be going back there again tomorrow morning (hopefully while they still have stock of the black 16s) to see if they can ACTUALLY do the upgrade without me having to pay 3 arms and 6 legs for this phone.

Did I mention I hate Bell? As of right now, I hate Rogers even more.

Wow..you guys are awesome!! Just saved $113...I originally got the 16 gig phone for $449, just called them up and they are giving me $100 credit plus taxes on my next bill....will show up as a 'Rogers Good Will Credit' so they say. Thanks again!!!!

Thanks for this info!! You guys saved me $125! I also asked the rogers rep why the computer wouldn't detect and automatically adjust a credit to eligible customers who recently upgraded, or at least why customers don't get notified about this promotion.. He said he understood my point, but gave the usual BS line that they are inundated with iphone orders...which makes no sense of course.

I am only 5 months into my contract; I went to a Rogers store today and was able to get an 8gb iphone for $249. Howver, the rep told me that I had to have at least a $35 per month voice plan in order to get the promotional offer of 6gb for $30. So I told him that we needed to get on the phone to a Rogers CSR because in all of my readings so far I had not seen that condition. Needless to say I was right. So far I am loving my iphone.

So does this count for Corporate plans as well?...or just regular based plans

This is me half an hour later. Called Rogers. iPhone is on it's way, plan is set up. Till the end of August, they have a $30 pack for 6GB of data, I'd highly recommend it since the iPhone is such a Web 2.0 client in your pocket, my current data plan for my Treo 750 was 15 dollars for 2MB of data, MEGABYTES of data, this is 6GB for $30. But ya, thanks to this post, it's on it's way. Thank you very much!

Extremely glad I came across it, this was my only concern as well, I tried calling and they said "nah, 12 months, kthxbai" and I was exactly 3 months into the plan with my Treo 750. I'm gonna try calling now, thanks so much! I'll comment back if I remember and update how it went. I'm on Rogers.

I should add that I called the Fido retentions line to do this.

sweet! called in and got a $110 credit to my bill. Might have helped that I only received my phone last Friday and could have always returned it and then went and bought a phone in store.

I just went in to the Rogers Plus at Bloor and Jarvis (aka Rogers HQ) and all was essentially fine and dandy except i'd have to pay $50 more, cuz my voice plan is only $25...that's fine...only hitch was that they have none in stock...LOL I'll be game as soon as the phone hits. I've even been given a number where I can call daily to see if they're in... :D

I went in ( with 11 months on my contract and 5 years total ) and was told that my phone would be $375.00. I misbehaved mightily. I was out of control I admit. Now I might drop in today and see what's up. Idiots. I just want my APPLE product.

Whenever you upgrade in this manner, it's like starting a whole new contract. So it would now be three years from the date you upgraded to the iphone (say Aug, 2011) instead of your last upgrade (would have been March, 2011).

whenever you sign a new contract it replaces your current one, they will never add the extra years to the end of your current contract

so if I signed up for a new 3yr contract on march2008, just that mean to get the iPhone I have to extend my contract another 3 yrs? Taking me through to 2014??

You sure this is not JUST for Rogers? I thought with Fido you had to be like 2 years into your contract to be eligible for HUP?!
