My first year of my contract is due in August, maybe I'll convince Rogers to let me port to Fido sometime from now til August and leave with or without paying $100 switch fee. +$200/$300 Fido iPhone new 3Year contract, no monthly service fees, pay by the second. Sounds pretty tasty to me, how about you people who are nearing their 1 year and past the 6month mark?

I just talked to Futureshop and there are selling the iPhone 3GS on friday and yes there already have them in stock.
So far there is NO BUY OUT PRICE...? No where I know of in Alberta, anyone else know?
Furtureshop only has the iPhone 3GS on a 3 year contract. I might just have to go with a contract...

With that kind of pricing for contract free locked roger/fido iphone, I would rather get one from Hong Kong so it's fully unlocked.

Just so everyone knows, Future Shop will be carrying the iPhone for launch too. I really suggest going there, as they offer a product exchange warranty. Covers battery, 100% performance guarantee (If any one thing on the phone isn't up to 100%, such as a stock app like safari repeatedly crashing -> brand new iPhone) and pretty much everything else aside from accidental or intentional damage. I have it, and I will be exchanging my 3G for a 16 or 32 (haven't decided) Gs, just paying the difference and not extending my contract what-so-ever.

If anyone is in Winnipeg and needs an iPhone, let me know:P

That is true. So it pretty much equals up to the buy out price lol
$299 for 32GB and $30 for data plan on 3 year. Early cancellation, 400 ETF + $100 for early cancel + $100 if u signed up for data plan + taxes = LOTS around same as buy out.

I also agree the 3GS will not be as big for a seller as when the iPhone 3G was introduced in Canada. Look how many people are selling there iPhones because they dont like it but yet they had to purchase it to try out. Since many people had the chance to try a iPhone out, this may effect how many buy the new models.

True true and the FW3.0 is a BIG upgrade, which I think is better then 3GS itself. But, double ram, faster processor, video graphics upgrade is a nice feature but still so much money for little upgrade if u already own a 3G. I'd say it benefits more for 2G owners.

I think Apple already has another iPhone in development but released the 3GS for us to be there test dummies. Next year or maybe sooner... will be a whole new model and upgrades. This may just be a test with the new FW 3.0 too and want to see what 3rd party developers can do with it! Then use it for there new model LOL Who knows.... :P

my three year contract expired over a year ago now.. was going to do a HUP to the iphone 3gs (keeping my existing voice plan, no data). any ideas on what the subsidized price would be?
