Another Report Suggests iPhone 5 Will have Larger Screen and All New Design

With every new iPhone comes the back and forth of all kinds of different rumours. We have heard conflicting reports that the next iPhone could have a bigger screen, or maybe stay the same. I would assume we’ll see a new design this year, as that would follow Apple’s history of iPhone releases. The iPhone 3G became the iPhone 3GS. Then the iPhone 4 became the iPhone 4S. The name of the next iPhone is up in the air, with the iPad 3 being named “The New iPad”. Is it the iPhone 5, or possibly just “The New iPhone”?

In a new report from Topeka analyst, Brian White, we are back to the rumour of an all new design with a 4″ display. White also says the new sleek design will be a unibody case, similar the the iPad, and will be a global device, supporting 4G networks. White suggests that the next iPhone will begin production in June, with a release in the fall/winter, and with the highest demand of any iPhone, Apple stock could top $1000 a share.

“The buzz around the new iPhone 5 is growing in Asia and speculation around the timing of the launch has begun. In our view, this will be the most significant iPhone upgrade with a four-inch screen and a new, sleek look that we believe will require a Unibody case. This new, sleek look will be the most important reason that consumers decide to upgrade to the iPhone 5, while we believe the addition of 4G will also attract buyers of the new device. We believe the iPhone 5 ramp for the December quarter could be extraordinary, dwarfing previous launches and driving the stock closer to our $1,001 price target.”

Hype for this iPhone started last summer, with some leaked design specs of a possible sleeker design with a larger screen. Some companies even starting making cases, based on those designs. Although the final design of the iPhone 5 may not be exactly like those cases we saw last year, I think a lot of people will be lining up for the next iPhone, this fall.
