So what do we know so far about the low-cost iPhone? Well, the rumour mill speculates that the casing will be manufactured from polycarbonate – although Ming-Chi Kuo, a KGI Securities analyst with a reliable track of predicting Apple’s product map, says Apple will likely choose a super-thin plastic casing mixed with glass fiber.

The rumor mill isn’t clear about the display size. Some talk about a 4-inch display, while others mention 4.5-inch screen for the polycarbonate iPhone.

In terms of design, iLounge has obtained information and says the low-cost iPhone will borrow some curves from the iPod classic, with the flat back and flat sides connected by a curve.

And colours! Yes, the budget iPhone is rumoured to be available in up to six colours.

So what will the cheaper iPhone look like? Martin Hajek, who imagined how the iPhone 5 would look months before the product was unveiled, has created a couple of concept images, based on what the rumour mill has spilled so far.

What do you think? Is this something you’d like to have?
