My question is regarding public beta users. Seems as tho it is saying that Yosemite is already installed on my Mac so does that mean beta 6 is comparable 100% to this public release? Anyone know yet?

  • erth

not for me it isn’t. it came up, and then disappeared again.

  • Special_Ed

Just keep trying. I’m also running Beta 6 and after multiple tries it’s finally downloading.

  • It’s now live. Try the link again fellas!

  • Kirk

Yeah it’s downloading for me too. Guess it’ll just override the beta? Time will tell.

  • Special_Ed

Time will tell indeed…in my case it’ll be 21 hours!! Their servers must be getting slammed…

Yea, it tells me that I’m already running Yosemite and to use the updates section to install any updates, or it gives me the option to download and install the full OS again.

  • Kirk

Gary any info on public beta users? I’m just downloading this over my public beta 6 and see what happens…

  • Nick

Well? Let the bug reports begin? After iOS 8.0.1 on my iPhone 6 I’m pretty wary of all updates…

  • xxxJDxxx

    so what happened?

  • Nafizur

okay, so i can use hand off from macbook to iPhone but not iPhone to macbook.. anyone else experiencing the same problem? if I’m on safari, i can see the icon on my lock screen. but if i’m on safari or email on my phone, there is not extension next to the finder.

  • Kirk

Super late response, but it just installed right over it. Guess beta 6 really wasn’t the complete version. Didn’t think so anyway because SMS texting was missing.

  • xxxJDxxx

Is SMS texting working for you now?

I’m curious if I should update or if Apple will eventually push out an updated for those of us still on the beta?

  • xxxJDxxx

Try disabling handoff on all your devices and your mac. restart and re-enable.

Handoff only worked for me for Safari to Safari handoff’s in the early beta’s. Suddenly its started working for pages opened in Safari on my iPhone but showing up as a link to Chrome on my macbook (I assume this is because Chrome is my default browser on my macbook) when it only used to show up as Safari to Safari. However, when I click to ‘handoff’ from Safari on my phone to Chrome on my macbook, Chrome opens but only opens my homepage, not the site I was actually viewing on my phone.

Not sure why it suddenly started wanting to open in Chrome instead of Safari like before, nor why it doesn’t actually work for Chrome.
