CIBC Launches Mobile Banking App For iPhone

CIBC has launched a mobile banking application where users can access their account, pay bills, find branches, and more.

Customers of CIBC will be happy to know that CIBC now has a rather fantastic app for iPhone/iPod Touch users. The only requirement is CIBC customers must have online banking enabled on their account (if you can see your account on CIBC.com, you’re set).

With the CIBC app, customers can check their balances across multiple accounts very easily and quickly. Using the same navigation screens, users can review transactions such as deposits, payments, and more.

The app also allows users to pay bills from the app, however the bills must be setup prior to using the app from the CIBC online banking website.

Lastly users can make account transfers such as moving funds and use the search function to locate bank branches and ABM’s. The search function does not use Google Maps but instead opens up a mobile search page in Safari.

The CIBC Mobile Banking app supports both English and French languages. Also note that President’s Choice Financial banking customers are not supported, even though the PC banking services are provided by CIBC.

The CIBC Mobile Banking app is available on the App Store for free.

Well this is not cool , President's Choice Financial accounts should also be supported or be able to leverage on the CIBC application for a PCF version.

Edit: Just tried it, it does NOT work with PC Financial accounts. Oh well, would have been nice. I guess PC Financial now have to get up off their asses and make an app like this. lol

This is a pretty good little app. I actually like how it lists my credit card transactions better than online banking!

Finally Canadian banks are getting with the times! I previously stated I will switch to which ever bank brings out an iPhone app, so I might have to start using my CIBC account more.

Hopefully RBC sees this app and is already ready to one up them..

There is RBC Finder, which helps you find ATM locations only.

Excellent! This was long overdue and frustrating knowing other banking institutions already had apps. My bills are set up so this is a real convenience.

Other institutions do not have apps that can help you pay bills via the IPhone, not yet.

Yup, the Mobile Banking service is a suppliment to customers who already do online banking at their computers, it doesn't replace regular online banking but more of an extension to it. I've got my bills setup already and it's kinda cool that I can now pay bills or transfer cash on my phone since i tend to make last minute payments on the go...
