I use Google's Picassa to share manage my photos on and offline. And so when I ran out of Picassa web space I upgraded to 20GB for $20 and with the recent changed it bumped me to 80GB. Now with 80 GB I'm backing-up all my full-size JPEGs. I also think we're getting much closer to truly getting "GDrive" and other services from Google. Hey, imagine one day being able to sync your iPhone via the cloud (Googles!) with an "iTunes" app.

Seems like whenever I see a complaint about Apple product it is related to pricing and my guess is that it is from a PC user who doesn't get the tight integration value of Apple's engineering. These things typically work seamlessly with each other and that is not about storage space, it's about a tightly engineered user experience. This is not commodity pricing where it's about the lowest price and nothing else. For Apple it is always about the user experience and they feel that work, perhaps not directly seen but certainly felt, is worth a premium price in the marketplace.

Apple charges what it wants for MobileMe because you can 1) find your iPhone and, perhaps more importantly; 2) remotely wipe all data from your iPhone. I find it incredibly frustrating that the only way to secure the data on my iPhone would be to pony up US$100/yr, but this is the differentiating factor between MobileMe and what Google offers. It's not apples to apples.

Seems like a good deal from Google. Although I don't use Mobile Me and those other features, I couldn't say if its worth it...
