Announcement: iPhoneTheSolution StealthSIM 1.1.2 Unlock Contest!

Share:

Alrighty, it’s been confirmed via email! I have something special for all you loyal readers out there! We recently added iPhoneTheSolution, the #1 source in Canada for the StealthSIM as one of our major sponsors. iPhoneTheSolution has sent me a StealthSIM for free to test and I can’t wait to try it out! After I check out the StealthSIM and finish the review, I will be giving away the StealthSIM for FREE to one lucky reader!

That’s right folks…one lucky reader will receive a FREE StealthSIM just for reading my blog! No catches at all, just a contest to generate more buzz for this new blog. So be sure to stay tuned as you don’t want to miss out on this one. The StealthSIM will cost you $125US after shipping from iPhoneTheSolution–but read about the review here on my blog and you can win it for free (not a bad deal if you ask me)! Since my iPhone was one of the older firmware versions when I bought it, the StealthSIM is of no use to me. But I know lots of you out there with 1.1.2 iPhones sure could use one! =)

What you need to do now, is subscribe to my RSS feed so you will not miss out on the latest updates regarding this contest. I’ll post more details about the contest once I get everything in order. Stay tuned! 🙂

Hey, thank you for the cool site!

I have a StealthSIM and it rocks. It worked exactly like the video and was much easier than I expected, which surprised my skeptical nature.

It was quite a surprise to get an apparently empty FedEx envelope with a tiny brown envelope inside which, in turn, held this very tiny ribbon that is the StealthSIM. Despite watching the video, I was still surprised at how next-to-nothing came from my hard-earned bucks and much more surprised when this little slip of a ribbon made my iPhone work under Rogers automatically once I slid it into the phone with my Rogers SIM card. It seemed a little tight, but it didn’t stick or jam; it just slid in and I started making calls.

The only additional step is to enter the Edge settings. I did not have a menu for Edge settings under Settings –> General –> Network –> EDGE until I unstalled the StealthSIM, but once the StealthSIM was on board, the menu was there and your instructions worked as advertised.

I found a few references on the web where Rogers supposedly lets iPhone users have their
    PC Card data plan
and my Rogers Rep added it to my plan. For $65/month, they gave me 1 GB of data per month, which is far more than I would ever use. I would definitely use more than 30 MB/month, so I need this PC Card plan.

Good luck to all of you StealthSIM users. Here’s hoping it will still work with 1.1.3!

    Rob.

  • Hey Rob, thanks for filling us in about your experience with the StealthSIM. I have heard about that $65/1GB plan, but personally I don’t need a data plan at the moment–and if I did…Rogers is having a great time robbing us with their insane data prices!

i like the idea of this contest…with no software unlock in site, this might be the best way to have my iphone unlocked in a quick time.
there are people at pacific mall willing to “unlock” for $50 but, well…

Hey Rob! Ah man, ur just making me even more jealous!!!! haha 😛 I wish I could use my iPhone hehe Thanks for that info too. I will be with Rogers and well I don’t need that plan as I will ”try” not to use the Edge for internet or etc., just the Wifi lol that does sound like a decent plan though, considering they do rob us lol just like iPhone Fan said. I will check my email too 🙂
Well guys, I’m gonna do some browsing on the net to learn some more stuff with the iPhone. Have a good night and thanks again for the info!

I got my stealth sim for Save and Replay, they charged $99 plus shipping. They are in Mississauga. Anyways I got it in two days, sad thing is though my Iphone hasn’t arrived yet from the states from my buddy. I’m glad to see the testemonials on here about them working flawlessly.

I have a question for Rob though. What jailbreak process did you use. I have found a million all over the web, some look more reputable that others. Did you use this websites steps?

On another note, I just want to commend the creator iPhone fan for a great site, I look at this site everday, just making more anxious to get my iPhone.

Hey, Drew, I wish I could help you, but my sons bought me my iPhone for Christmas and they jailbroke it. They said that they found a step-by-step guide on the web. There are lots of them, like at TUAW. I bet that this site would have instructions or at least good links.

I was wondering if anyone has an estimate of just how many iPhones there are in Canada. When I ordered my StealthSIM from iamiphone.ca, by the looks of their stock levels, they sell out of two shipments of 300 StealthSIMs each week! And there are two other Canadian suppliers!

I am thinking that there are a lot of iPhones in Canada. I am dying of curiosity as to how many.

Hey Rob, I bet there is quite a bit of ppl out there with iPhones and with the Christmas season, I would think many got them for Christmas and when they traveled to the states for holidays. I bet ya though once they got back to Canada and realized that the 1.1.2 cannot be unlocked, they all went and started to buy StealthSIM. Also being a member to many iPhones sites and reading of where is ur location of iPhone, there is a great number or Canadians and other locations, plus always asking for Canadian help and etc. I cannot give an example number or anything, but I think it’s lots! 😛 lol I’m also interested if someone knows… hehe
    Cheers!

Thanks Dusty. I had found iClarified as well, I use a Mac and they have same tutorial for a Mac also. Seeing as how you used the jailbreak process from iClarified I’m thinking I will do the same.

As soon as I get my iPhone I will report back here to let you guys know how it went.
