my live chat with them was ridiculous.

Tina: Welcome to our live chat service.

Tina: Hello. How may I assist you?

shirley: i was wondering how these phone are able to work in canada?

shirley: using something like turbosim or stealthsim?

Tina: yes they are for sure

shirley: if/when they finally release the iphone to canada, will those using unlocked/jailbreak phones or turbosim card phones be able to just get the upgrades normally if we are customers of which ever company released the iphone? or once we do this whole unlock/jailbreak/turbosim process, we are forever stuck with waiting for ways to unlock the latest upgrades?

Tina: they won't be releasing it in Canada

shirley: so how can i get updates for the phone if i'm with fido?

shirley: and do i have to cut the turbosim to make it fit with my fido sim?

Tina: I will be right with you.

Tina: yes you can

Tina: no we send you a pre-configured card

shirley: so there is no chance that the phone will ever brick?

Tina: I'm sorry for the delay. I'll be right with you.

Tina: no it won't

shirley: what exactly does the turbosim do?

Tina: we don't use turbosim actually

Tina: we have a custom solution

shirley: so do you take the phone apart to unlock/jailbreak it? or do you sent a new unopened phone?

Tina: no

Tina: you just insert your sim into our replacement tray

Tina: and insert that into the phone

shirley: and all apple updates will be good to install as soon as they are released?

Tina: Thank you for waiting. I'll be with you in just a moment.

Tina: yes they are

shirley: what happens if the phone does brick? do u offer a warranty?

Tina: Thank you for waiting. I'll be with you in just a moment.

Tina: I'm sorry for the delay. I'll be right with you.

Tina: I will be right with you.

Tina: I will be right with you.

Tina: we do have a warranty

Tina: that you can buy on our website

Tina: the phone won't brick

Tina: there is no way for that to happen

Tina: unless you jailbreak it

shirley: so other than this replacement tray thing... do u do any unlocking/jailbreaking to the phone?

Tina: there is no software modification to the phone

Another option is the "Stealth Sim"
I have a 1.1.2 OTB with a Stealth Sim and its working perfectly!
I did have to modify my SIM, but it still works in my Blackberry Pearl without any flaws.
The Stealth SIM will run you $120
