Apple has registered two new iPad model numbers with the Eurasian Economic Commission.
Over the past several weeks, Apple has been preparing itself for new product launches later in the year by registering a number of iPad, iPhone, and Mac models with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). Last week, the EEC authorized Apple to register five new models of laptops (two of which were unveiled yesterday) and five new models of tablets.
Earlier in July, Apple registered five tablet models, including A1876, A1934, A1979, A2013, and A2014. Now, according to a new report from Consomac, the EEC has just authorized the sale of two new models of tablets, numbered A1895 and A1980 and running on iOS 11.
Apple is widely expected to debut a major update to the iPad Pro, which will see upgrades such as an iPhone X design scheme, slimmer bezels, a True Depth camera system with Face ID support, and a faster processor.
According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the 2018 iPad Pro is predicted to come in two different sizes — 11- and 12.9-inch models. As the model will ship in two size variants, and considering the Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular models, in addition to a potential special Cellular model for China, this covers six out of seven of the EEC filings.

Apple’s filings with the EEC have been particularly reliable in recent years. Apart from the many iPhone models registered in April with unusual anticipation, the arrival of new product model numbers in the EEC database has always preceded an official presentation a few weeks later.
