AnySIM 1.1.3 iPhone Unlock Leaked

*Disclaimer: do not attempt this upgrade unless you have nerves of steel, or are experienced and comfortable with taking your iPhone to the limit! These methods are new and still being tested!!*

Remember when I posted about the imminent release of the 1.1.3 iPhone unlock? Well, it has been released and brave iPhone enthusiasts are already experimenting with this latest unlock, leaked on Zibri’s blog. What exactly is this 1.1.3 unlock?

anySIM 1.1.3 is meant only for iPhones with the 3.9 bootloader and 04.03.13G modem firmware–in other words, iPhones that ORIGINALLY had 1.0.2 or 1.1.1 out of the box.

This will not work with brand new 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 iPhones. The process to update, jailbreak, and unlock 1.1.3 according to this guide from iClarified is as follows (this is a rough summary). This unlock takes advantage of GeoHot’s iPhoneSIMFree (IPSF) style unlock (IPSF was the first software unlock for the iPhone, a paid solution that had survived through firmware updates).

  • Update to 1.1.3 in iTunes
  • Downgrade to 1.1.1, jailbreak
  • Update to 1.1.2, jailbreak
  • “soft update” to 1.1.3 via Installer
  • Download anySIM 1.1.3, turn on “airplane mode” and run anySIM
  • Complete! An unlocked iPhone running 1.1.3 with the latest modem firmware!
