Apple Orders 10 Episodes of Documentary Series ‘Home’: Report
More original programming has been ordered by Apple, with the latest being 10 episodes of documentary series ‘Home’, reports Variety:
Apple has given a straight-to-series order to the docuseries “Home,” Variety has learned.
The series will offer viewers a never-before-seen look inside the world’s most extraordinary homes, and delves into the minds of the people who built them. Apple has ordered 10, one-hour episodes of the new series.
According to Variety, ‘Home’ has “executive producers Matt Tyrnauer and Corey Reeser of Altimeter Films, Matthew Weaver, Ian Orefice and Bruce Gersh from Time Inc. Productions, and Joe Poulin, CEO of Luxury Retreats.”
So this is like MTV Cribs with Xzibit??
Other original programming coming from Apple includes “Are You Sleeping”, “Amazing Stories”, and a space drama series from the creator of Battlestar Galactica.
These original shows will most likely be part of Apple Music, to offer more value and retain existing paying subscribers. So far, we haven’t seen major hit shows from Apple yet (Carpool Karaoke was cringey), but we’ll have to wait and see what comes next.
