New 4K Drone Footage Shows Apple Park Progress Over Last 12 Months

Apple’s new corporate campus in Cupertino, California, called Apple Park, was scheduled to open to employees in April 2017, but no announcements have been made during that month and we’re already deep into May.

Now, new drone footage shows the progress that has been made on the Apple Park headquarters facility in the last year —but there still appears to be a lot of outstanding tasks to complete until the building is completely finished.

Drone videographer Matthew Roberts has diligently been filming Apple’s new campus with a DJI Phantom 3 Pro drone during the last year, and now he compiled the best moments into one six-minute video.

Roberts just published his latest drone video, recapping progress for the construction of Apple Park over the last 12 months. The video focuses in part on the company’s main, ring-shaped building, where most of the 12,000 Apple employees slated to work there will find their offices.

In June, the building, which has been called the “spaceship” because of its design, still didn’t have a roof and construction crews were working feverishly to gets solar panels up there. The footage shows that much progress has been made on the main building, but work is unfinished in areas like the main tunnel.

Landscaping in the entire complex and the Steve Jobs Theater are also a long ways from completion, though both have made progress and were already only scheduled to finish sometime later this year.
