Apple Pay Expands to Island Savings, Valley First Credit Unions in Canada

Apple Pay has expanded in Canada as two more credit unions have joined: Island Savings and Valley First. Both are divisions of First West Credit Union, serving Western Canada, specifically the BC interior and and Vancouver Island.

Island Savings has updated their website to note Apple Pay is now supported for their Island Savings Interac Flash MemberCard (debit card).

Valley First similarly updated their website as well, with Apple Pay support coming for their Valley First Interac Flash MemberCard (debit card).

You can add your Island Savings or Valley First debit card to Apple Pay if your device is an iPhone 6 or later, iPhone SE, Apple Watch Series 2 and any Apple Watch paired with iPhone 5 or later.

Apple also updated their Apple Pay participating banks page to note the additions of these two credit unions.

Back in December, Envision Financial, a division of First West Credit Union, also added Apple Pay, along with three other credit unions as well.

As for other major Apple Pay launches, yesterday the mobile wallet launched for customers in Brazil.
