Apple Posts Video Featuring Artists Behind Jiefangbei Retail Store Mural
Earlier this month, Apple unveiled its new retail store in Chongqing, China. Yesterday some exclusive photos of the new store were posted, revealing an interior that is reminiscent of the spiral staircase in the iconic glass cube store on Fifth Avenue in New York.
“Just as the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers come together in Chongqing, we brought together Chongqing-born painter Yangyang Pan and award-winning photographer Navid Baraty to celebrate the opening of the new Apple Store, Jiefangbei. See how their work was inspired by the city itself.”
Today, in celebration of the stores grand opening, the company has released a video on YouTube to commemorate Chongqing-born painter Yangyang Pan and award-winning photographer Navid Baraty’s work on the design of the mural on the store’s front while it was under construction.
Apple’s new retail store in Chongqing’s Guotai Plaza is the company’s fourth shot at combining an underground space with an above-ground landmark, joining stores in New York, Shanghai, and Istanbul.
