Apple’s New Retail Chief Angela Ahrendts Added to Executive Profiles Page
Former Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts has officially started her tenure at Apple as the company’s senior vice president of retail and online stores.
Ahrendts’ bio has officially been added to Apple’s Executive Profiles page late Friday evening, joining the ranks of the company’s existing leadership team (note executives are ordered alphabetically after Tim Cook):
Here is part of Ahrendts’ description from her bio:
Angela is responsible for the operation and expansion of Apple retail and online stores, which have redefined the shopping experience for hundreds of millions of customers around the world. Apple retail stores set the standard for customer service with innovative features like the Genius Bar, personal setup and one-to-one personal training to help customers get the most out of their Apple products.
Apple announced the hiring of Ahrendts last October, but her 2014 start date was never finalized until CEO Tim Cook revealed she would start this week during the company’s recent Q2 2014 earnings call.
Apple now officially has a new retail chief, 19 months after the company let go of the controversial John Browett. Expectations are high for Ahrendts to make a significant impact for Apple retail, given her experience at Burberry.
