Apple Talks Settlement with Electric Car Battery Maker Over Employee Poaching

According to Reuters, a court filing revealed today Apple is looking to possibly settle with A123 Systems, an electric car battery maker which sued the iPhone maker for poaching its top engineers last year:

In a court filing on Tuesday, Apple asked a Massachusetts federal judge for an extension of time to respond to the A123 lawsuit because “they are exploring potential resolution.”

Earlier this month, A123 sued Apple in a Massachusetts federal court, claiming their high-tech PhD and engineering employees had been poached by Apple, resulting in disruption of their electric battery operations and programs.

Bloomberg previously reported Apple has plans to release an electric car, as soon as 2020, according to sources. Apple’s secret ‘Project Titan’ is said to consist of 1,000 people dedicated to creating an electric vehicle for the company.
