Apple’s “Vehicle Development” Said to Give Tesla a “Run for its Money” [Rumour]

Less than a week ago a mysterious camera-equipped van was spotted in San Francisco, which had people buzzing since the vehicle was leased to Apple.

Now, according to Business Insider, an anonymous email from an Apple employee said the latter has plans to “give Tesla a run for its money”:

After writing about how the van could be used for a self-driving car, we got an unsolicited email from an employee at Apple about “vehicle development” at the company.

This person said Tesla employees were “jumping ship” to work at Apple.

“Apple’s latest project is too exciting to pass up,” the person said. “I think it will change the landscape and give Tesla a run for its money.”

This is a pretty crazy rumour. Not sure what Apple has planned but Tesla has been able to successful lure away the former’s employees, according to the automaker’s CEO Elon Musk. If Apple was working on a vehicle, you’d think they’d do a better job of keeping it secret.

The vehicles were equipped with cameras on top, leading many to believe Apple could be creating the Herculean task of a Google Street View rival for major U.S. cities.
