Apple TV Remote App Beta for New Apple TV [Hands-On Video]

The folks over at 9to5Mac have shared their hands-on experience with the new Apple TV Remote app, which is currently in beta and can only be accessed by registered Apple developers as an IPA installable directly via iTunes. Apple claims that the new app brings the “best of the Siri Remote” to iOS devices, allowing users to easily navigate the Apple TV interface, and also use it as a controller for basic games.

The source explains how you can download the Apple TV Remote IPA via Apple’s developer page and install it on your iPhone running iOS 9.3.2 or later. Also, a 4th generation Apple TV running tvOS 9.2.1 or later is required. Once the app is installed on your iOS device, you’ll need to pair it with your Apple TV, connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone.

Once paired, simply launch the Apple TV Remote app and it will automatically detect your Apple TV. Check out the video walkthrough below for a better idea.
