Apple Watch Sport May Come in Yellow and Rose Gold This Year: KGI

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has released a new research note outlining predictions of what he believes is coming in Apple’s fall pipeline (via MacRumors).

Kuo’s report notes Apple Watch Sport could launch this year in yellow and rose gold, which would essentially match similar colours that may debut with the ‘iPhone 6s’. As for sales of Apple Watch, he estimates shipments of 5.5 million for the current quarter and 3.9 million for the second quarter.

Regarding iPhone, the analyst noted shipments would decline ahead of the ‘iPhone 6s’ launch and the rumoured Force Touch feature may limit initial shipments due to low yield rates. Back in March, the WSJ reported the next iPhone could employ Force Touch and include a pink colour option. We’ve already seen unboxing of pink ‘iPhone 6s’ clones.

When it comes to iPad, Kuo says a thinner and lighter iPad mini may debut this fall, taking the smaller tablet to same thinness as the iPad Air 2. He did not mention anything about iPad Air or the rumoured ‘iPad Pro’.

Apple will also refresh its Mac lineup in Q3 or Q4 to help maintain Mac demand.

The analyst is known to have a pretty good track record when it comes to Apple, based on his inside knowledge of the company’s supply chain, but still should be taken with a grain of salt.

The iPhone 5c currently has ‘fun’ colours—could they make their way to the iPhone 6s or a possible iPhone 6c refresh? Or have Apple’s new iPod colours set the tone for things to come?
