Bell has announced that it is partnering with IBM to offer its MobileFirst for iOS enterprise apps for the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.

Bell and IBM will combine their expertise and offer apps tailored for the needs of industries such as energy and utilities, government, manufacturing, retail and more. While consultation for and integration of the MobileFirst for iOS apps will be the responsibility of IBM, Bell will help the technology company with its wireless network coverage to enable users to retrieve data and insights in real-time.

“Bell is excited to be the only Canadian provider to offer IBM MobileFirst for iOS apps, helping businesses become more efficient and productive by taking greater advantage of their mobile iOS devices,” said Nauby Jacob, Vice President of Products and Services at Bell Mobility. “Supported by secure and reliable connectivity on Canada’s largest and fastest broadband wireless network, and access to Bell’s broad suite of IoT solutions, enterprise customers can further transform their business.”

Apple and IBM first announced the global partnership to transform enterprise mobility with MobileFirst for iOS in mid-2014. The two tech giants targeted the release of more than 100 new industry-specific business apps for iOS devices with the first being launched in December of that year. The app, Plan Flight, along with Passenger+, was supported by existing IBM client Air Canada.
