In an email to customers, the electronics retailer explained “We are constantly evolving to bring you the best shopping experience possible. In line with this and based on member feedback, we’ve made the decision to retire our Reward Zone points program this year.”

Best Buy says outstanding points balances will be converted to a final Reward Zone certificate on May 11, 2018. Customers will have six months to redeem (180 days) their certificate, before it expires on November 7, 2018.

As of March 28, 2018, Best Buy stopped accepting new members into the Reward Zone program. The company says in 2018, they will be “rolling out a new loyalty approach.”

Best Buy further explains, “Customer loyalty and rewards is an integral and exciting part of our overall business success, which is why it is imperative we continue to evolve our programs to meet the changing needs and expectations of our customers.”

The Reward Zone program offered customers one point for every one dollar spent on goods at Best Buy, with 400 points equivalent to a $5 gift certificate reward.

If you have some points accumulated, it’s probably best to check the status of your account to ensure you can use your rewards in time.

Thanks Evan
