Game developer Wooga in collaboration with 20th Century Fox, has today announced a new upcoming iOS game based on the popular TV show Futurama, which will soon hit the App Store under the title of “Futurama: Game of Drones”. According to Engadget, the story will see the Planet Express crew take on MomCo in a delivery war, with players asked to connect groups of drones to solve puzzles. No release window however has been revealed alongside the announcement.

“The game, titled FUTURAMA: Game of Drones, takes players on a journey with the Planet Express crew as they fight a desperately imbalanced trade war against longtime shipping rival MomCo. While delivering dangerous cargo to hazardous locations under ill-advised circumstances, players connect groups of delivery drones to solve an array of fiendish puzzles as they venture into iconic environments from the FUTURAMA universe”.

The game will be designed by Dave Grossman, the guy who wrote The Secret of Monkey Island, Sam & Max as well as Telltale Games’ Tales of Monkey Island, in collaboration with former Futurama producer Patric Verrone, who was co-executive producer in the show’s later years and wrote episodes like The Problem with Popplers and That’s Lobstertainment.
