Game Review: I Am T-Pain, Now with Video!

Share:

Smule has knocked one out of the park again, with this update to their popular “I Am T-Pain” app. Smule has brought us other iPhone classics, like Ocarina, and more recently Magic Piano for iPad. Their games are always innovative, and like nothing you’ve seen before.

This latest update to I Am T-Pain, brings compatibility with iOS4, and the ability to record video or yourself singing these songs. Video only works on iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4, on iOS4. On iPhone 4, you can even use the front facing camera to record yourself in that crazy, auto-tuned voice.

Launch the I Am T-Pain app, select your favorite track, and just sing into the Mic on your iPhone. I Am T-Pain will record and Auto-Tune your voice. Then, with a single button, share your song over email, Facebook, or MySpace.

With the 1.5 Update, you can also create your own auto-tuned videos (iOS 4.0 required with iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4).

You can also select the Freestyle option and use Auto-Tune for singing without companion tracks. Use this option if you simply want to send someone an Auto-Tuned greeting over email (Shawwttay!).

• The application bundles several of T-Pain’s top songs including Bartender and I’m N Luv (Wit a Stripper), complete with lyrics, integrated Auto-Tune settings, and timings.

• The App also bundles six previously unreleased T-Pain original beats.

• Additional songs including On A Boat, Buy U A Drank, and Good Life can be purchased within the App.

• Use Auto-Tune with your existing iTunes library.

http://iamtpain.smule.com/ features top Auto-Tuned performances around the world, based on the amount of “Love” your songs receive on Facebook or MySpace.

We recommend using the headphones with the integrated microphone that came bundled with your iPhone (REQUIRED for iPad, first gen iPhone and iPod touch; the first gen iPod touch has no Mic and so won’t work with this App).

This is a great party game, as a fun alternative to karaoke. Even though I am not a fan of this type of music, I still had a blast hearing voice auto-tuned (sorry, no audio samples :p). My 6 year old daughter loved the freestyle mode, and wanted to do it over and over again. The video mode is hilarious

The only negative I could say about this is, it only comes with 5 licensed tracks. There are tonnes more available, but you have to purchase them, via in-app purchasing. They do include a few generic beats that you can sing to, and you can also sing along to any song on your iPhone in your iTune’s library.

I Am T-Pain is available in the App Store now for $2.99, and in-app purchases ar $.99 each.

Hi, i know i am commenting on the wrong post but i really needed an answer quick -.-
I am heading to the states tomorrow and was wondering if i could buy an unlocked iphone 4 there and put my rogers simcard into it.
Would it work? would there be any problems?

    Thanks

  • YOHO

there is no “unlocked iphone 4” in the states. they will sell unlocked iphones only in canada and Europe. the only iphone 4 you can buy in the states is the one that is locked to AT&T networks. unless you buy it LLOCKED and unlock it yourself which i'm not even sure if the unlock method is even available yet for the iphone 4. i hope i answered your question

  • Autotune, it's the future of music. The best time for music was R&B during the 90's. Miss those good ol' days!

  • Adults love what they love the I Am T-Pain, Now with Video! game, but now every parent of a minor must know what they get. you do not need me to tell me how this game is. Instead I will just list the things I loved, and a few gripes I had.
