Here Are More Photos Of The New iPhone’s Battery

In early August 9To5Mac brought a few photos of the New iPhone’s battery to the table. The capacity was slightly higher than the iPhone 4S at 1440 mAh. The battery even packed a higher voltage, at 3.8V.

Now just a month later and nearly a week before the iPhone event, iResQ has obtained an iPhone 5 battery and released a comparison up against an iPhone 4S battery.

These most recent photos reveal much of the same, the battery runs at 3.8V with a capability of 5.45 watt-hours. The iPhone 4S battery runs slightly behind at 3.7V/5.30Whr. As seen above, the iPhone 4S is on the left, iPhone 5 on the right.

iResq explains:

Key differences between the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4S battery:

1. The iPhone 5’s battery is slightly less than a half an inch taller than the iPhone 4S. The thickness appears to be identical.

2. The iPhone 5 is 3.8V/5.45Whr while the iPhone 4S is 3.7V/5.3Whr.

3. The connector on the iPhone 5 is not only different, it is placed on the opposite side of the battery to accomodiate its new position within the iPhone.

I’m not quite advanced with batteries, but research has confirmed the difference between the New iPhone and iPhone 4S battery isn’t very substantial. With the expectation of LTE capabilities and a larger retina display, the battery will be a quick drainer.
