iOS 7.1 Glitch Lets You Hide Stock Apps from Home Screen [VIDEO]

If you ever wanted to hide stock apps like Voice Memos or Compass which are rarely used, from your iOS device Home Screen on a non-jailbroken iPhone, iPod or iPad, this newly discovered iOS 7.1 glitch may just be the answer. It seems that users can exploit the glitch to make useless or unwanted apps disappear from the Home Screen entirely (via iPhoneclub.nl).

hide apps

The harmless bug basically makes it possible to hide an entire folder on your iOS device, including any apps placed in that folder. This way, Apple’s stock iOS apps which cannot be permanently removed, can also be hidden. Of course the apps will still exist on the device, but there will be no icon visible on the Home Screen. To find out how, follow these steps on your device running iOS 7.1:

Step 1:

Place all the apps you want to hide in a single folder.

Step 2:

Now drag this folder on a Home Screen page that is completely full of app icons. (The app dock should also be full).

Step 3:

Now drag any app icon on top of another one to create a folder. While the folder is being created, quickly drag the folder you want to hide into that new folder.

Step 4:

Remove the two apps from the new folder and drag the folder with hidden apps out to watch it disappear.

That’s it, enjoy!
