In a nutshell, here’s what’s new:

  • Notifications are now working from the Lockscreen
  • New: option to replay iMessage effects
  • Reduce Motion – Auto Play Message Effects now actually works
  • No more dots indicator dots in the sending GIF/app menu within iMessage
  • Fix for iPad motion data handling
Of course, iOS 10.1 beta comes with the new Portrait camera mode (beta) for iPhone 7 Plus users. The effect works well in its early stages and in the right lighting, is downright impressive. Check out our recent image taken below (iOS 10.1 beta 1):

As for Geekbench results, beta 2 saw a score just slightly lower than beta 1, but overall, the beta is deemed “smooth” and “works well.”
