iOS 10.1 Public Beta and macOS Sierra 10.12.1 Hits Testers

After releasing iOS 10.1 beta and macOS Sierra 10.12.1 beta yesterday for developers (along with tvOS and watchOS too), Apple has released the public beta versions of these updates for testers.

The release of iOS 10.1 contains the new Portrait Camera (beta) for iPhone 7 Plus users, which allows for blurred background effects (similar to bokeh on dSLRs). You can click here to check out our quick hands-on with the beta feature.

It works well but is still wonky in certain lighting conditions (look at the ‘missing’ left side of our iPhone 6s Plus above; hey, that’s beta); overall it can still produce some impressive shots to impress your friends.
