iPhone 4 Film: “Apple of My Eye” Created with iMovie is Awesome

The iPhone 4 release date in Canada is slated for “late July”, as per Apple’s latest press release. Canadians are eager to test out FaceTime–but one of the coolest apps I want to try out is iMovie for the iPhone.

iMovie will enable you to bring out the Steven Spielberg in you and create blockbuster movies right on your iPhone. Okay, maybe that’s stretching it a bit but you’ll be able to take full advantage of the iPhone’s 720p videos and make a movie–right on your phone (the days of “just” making phone calls are long gone!).

We all knew a short film would be released and it looks like the folks at Majek Pictures are one of the first to do so. The film is well directed and the iPhone 4 video is very high quality. Well done, guys!

I wonder how they fashioned a tripod for the iPhone? They must have made some sort of dolly too because you can see it's reflection in the window in one of the shots.

I can see it now – Apple launches new line of cinematic camera accessories for the iPhone! Steady-cam for your iPhone anyone?

PS. James Cameron should definitely look into shooting Avatar 2 on his iphone.

    Hey dj,
I caught those “cinematic” moves myself. Kinda “high-end” for an iPhone movie. Still, from a production stand-point, and considering the camera used, nice stuff.
Be interesting to see what people are able to produce. Also interesting to see what news events people capture with the iPhone 4. I'm thinking with this phone and the various Android devices out there we're going to see even more “just happened” moments captured in clear 720p HD. Woot!

Definitely higher quality than what 99% of all iPhone videos will ever be.
