iPhone 5 Will Go On Sale September 21st, Notes Industry Insiders

What’s more exciting than the iPhone event tomorrow? The release date of course! A few American-based claims have pinpointed September 21st as being the release date, but we are yet to hear any word regarding an international release date. The only reason to speculate that the iPhone 5 will initially launch internationally is because both Apple’s iPhone 4S and New iPad had.

When Tim Cook rolls up to the Yerba Buena Center tomorrow morning he is fully expected to launch the iPhone 5 in the United States along with many other countries including Canada. The Telegraph was exclusively verified of the international September 21st release by “mobile industry insiders.”

Two well-placed mobile industry insiders have told the Telegraph that the iPhone 5, which Apple is expected to launch tomorrow at an event in San Francisco, will go on sale in Britain nine days later.

American reports had pointed to a September 21 release for the new iPhone in the US but it was unclear whether international launches would be delayed.

Details on what the iPhone 5 beholds is pretty much verified by the many rumours over these past few months. The transition to a 4-inch screen and mini dock connector is at the very least confirmed at this point. You can click here to learn more about the rumoured iPhone 5 features.

If the launce of the iPhone 5 is anything like that of the iPhone 4 two years ago, don’t count on getting one for at least 2-3 months unless you’ve got no life and will be queuing outisde an Apple store for several days. I want one and, assuming Rogers will release 1-2 phones per week per store, I’ll wait until later in Q4. I have a life!

  • As an iPhone fanboy, I am saddened to say that I am not the least bit excited about the announcement tomorrow. All the spoilers this year have ruined it for me. Looking forward to all the rumours being over, though! 😛

I think the availability will depend highly on if Apple has any supply constraints. Lately it seems like they have learned to keep more stock in their warehouse initially.

Same thoughts going through my mind too. I actually said in a previous post or comment that I was hoping for some type of surprise. Even them launching the new iPod line tomorrow would really excite me.

Just reserve one through their system and you’ll know when it ready… Weeks after it comes out

I would agree with that… There wasn’t much of a problem with availability when the “new” iPad first came out… They’ve probably been building iPhones for the last 4-6 weeks.. I read somewhere that they build around 200,000 units per day @ Foxconn.. That would yield somewhere between 6 and 9 million units on hand for launch…

I have no idea what your talking about. I went to line up at my local Apple store at 8am the morning of the 4S release. I was out of there by 11 with my new iPhone.

3 hours is not bad at all.
