Apple Says Pope Visit May Delay iPhone 6s Delivery in NYC

If you had ever wondered whether the iPhone and Pope Francis would ever be mentioned in the same press headline, well, here is an interesting combination: Pope Francis’ first visit to the United States is affecting those New York and Philadelphia-based customers who are eagerly waiting for the delivery of their iPhone 6s.

Apple has even informed affected customers – Sam Biddle included – that they may experience shipping delays due to the pope’s visit during Friday. On Saturday, deliveries will be available in the majority of areas.

For those who were unaware, Pope Francis will be visiting New York City and Philadelphia this week, and all major shipping companies plan to shut down deliveries in certain areas during the event, due to traffic restrictions. Shipping companies have revealed that deliveries will be affected for the following Zip codes:

New York City: 10001, 10007, 10017, 10021, 10022, 10023, 10029
Philadelphia: 19102, 19103, 19104, 19106, 19107, 19109, 19123, 19130, 19146, 19147

As such, those who live in the areas affected by the delay will likely receive their package on Saturday instead of Friday. However, if you prefer to receive it on Friday, you can route the package to an area where deliveries are unaffected. For those who live in other areas than those mentioned, iPhones will arrive on Friday, as scheduled.
