Kijiji Removes iPhone X Ads Over ‘Probability’ of Fraud, Revamps Pre-Sale Rules
With any new iPhone pre-order, there are those who want to sell the device for a markup on online classifieds such as Kijiji.
Early iPhone X pre-order ads on Kijiji have been recently removed, in what Kijiji Canada informs us as because these listings have a “higher probability of fraud”.
@iPhoneinCanada would you happen to know why kijiji is removing ads for the sale of iPhone X’s?

A Kijiji Canada spokesperson said in a statement to iPhone in Canada, “Kijiji does not support a practice that has consumers pay for an item that cannot be possessed by consumers as of yet,” a move to protect members.
Despite the removal of these iPhone X ads, Kijiji Canada has decided to alter their rules towards pre-sale listings with new guidelines, after hearing feedback from users:
- The poster must clearly indicate in the listing that the item is a presale item.
- The poster must include a picture of the pre-order form or receipt.
Kijiji Canada says these new guidelines will soon be outlined in their Help Desk section on their website.
As of writing, iPhone X pre-sale ad listings have re-appeared on Kijiji, at markups of $600-800 CAD over retail.
