Lyft Reveals Most Traveled-to Places in Ottawa

On Tuesday, ride-sharing service Lyft celebrated its one-month anniversary of launching in Ottawa. To mark the occasion, the company sent out some statistics that show the most popular places people in Canada’s capital are traveling.

Here are the top destinations by category:

  • Hotel: The Westin
  • School: Carleton University
  • Mall: Billings Bridge
  • Nightlife: The Lieutenant’s Pump
  • Movie Theatre: Cineplex Cinemas Lansdowne and VIP

The busiest day of their first month was April 6th and the busiest time of day is between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., with the top destination being the downtown core.

In a statement, managing director of Lyft Canada Aaron Zifkin said:

“We’ve been in Ottawa for a month and we’re thrilled to be here. We’ve seen Ottawa residents using Lyft for many different purposes, from nights out on the town to commuting to and work or school. We’re proud to offer reliable and affordable transportation and an earning opportunity for so many who drive with Lyft.”

Uber and Lyft are still fighting for popularity in Ottawa, but it seems like Lyft is been taking off in popularity over the past month.
