RedEye Mini Overview + Contest Giveaway By Digital Smart Homes

If you’re looking for some technology to grow the digital technology in your home look no further than Digital Smart Homes in Vancouver, BC. I was contacted by the founder Harry Saini who offered to give away two RedEye Minis. Free swag? Why not! We’ve already given away an iPad!

I was also going to review the RedEye Mini, but for some strange reason the RedEye Mini iPhone app is not available in the App Store, but it should be back up soon.

Anyways, here’s a quick rundown of the RedEye Mini:

  • Install the RedEye application from the App Store
  • Plugin the RedEye Mini into your iPhone 4/3GS/3G, iPod touch 2G/3G, iPad headphone jack
  • Configure devices within the RedEye app; it’ll search the online database of over 45,000 codes
  • Create some activities, like “Watch DVD”. Your setup will allow one tap to turn on all devices

Here’s a video overview of the RedEye, which is very similar to the setup of the RedEye Mini:

Facebook, really? What happened to the good old days when you weren’t forced to join other services to enter your contests? I’ve never been part of Facebook, and I never plan to be, so I guess it’s one more awesome contest I’m going to miss out on…

I agree. I even have facebook but I find spamming advertising to be in poor taste. I’m going to have to pass. I hope this is not a precedent!
