To Get Your Reward, Follow These Easy Steps:

Step 2: Use Your VISA® Debit or Credit Card to Reload $25
Step 3: Get Your $5 eGift

Starbucks says the limited promo runs from today until July 19, 2015 at 11:59 EST, or until 7,500 qualified My Starbucks Rewards members redeem it.

You’ll get your $5 eGift sent to your email account within seven days of reloading. This is somewhat sneaky, as it doesn’t inform you whether you’ve qualified for the promo or not, but gets a billion people to reload their Starbucks cards with at least $25.

Even with the bare minimum of 7,500 people reloading $25, Starbucks will get $187,500 in revenue, while the $5 promos will cost $37,500 (which might be paid for partially or entirely by Visa as part of a marketing campaign).

Last month, Starbucks for iPhone was updated with Inbox to receive special My Starbucks Rewards Messages and also added location services for “Only while in Use,” if you wanted that option. Coming soon is optimization for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Also, Starbucks announced today it plans on raising prices in Canada (and the USA), with prices varying by province, says company spokeswoman Carly Suppa, according to The Star:

She says a brewed coffee in a Venti cup — the largest size at Canadian stores — will increase by 10 cents in some provinces.

Lattes in a Grande or Venti cup will go up by 20 cents, depending on the province.

Suppa says prices for these particular drinks haven’t increased in a year and a half to three years.
