Rogers’ shomi Streaming Service Turns One Year Old

Rogers’ and Shaw’s streaming service shomi celebrated the first anniversary of its national debut on August 20. To celebrate the milestone, Rogers and Shaw have released statistics showing how well the streaming service has done in the first year of operation across Canada.

  • AHHH

my God, Canadians are some weirdos.

  • Quattro

That reminds me – I need to cancel my shomi subscription.

  • FragilityG4

Funny how the most searched actor is Adam Sandler when he has an exclusive deal with Netflix!

  • Corey Beazer

I’ve been doing some jumping back and forth between Netflix and Crave (all the services are pretty much the same price now and no contracts). Whoever has a new series I want to check out gets my money for the month or two. Going to give Shomi a shot once “The Grand Tour” is on there.
Also I’d be real curious to know how many users actually pay for the service as opposed to given it for free from Rogers or Shaw.

  • Quattro

I don’t get what’s so funny. His deal with Netflix is just to make some movies with them.

  • FragilityG4

Yes this making him, currently, Netflix property.

  • Olley

whoever gets south park gets my money

  • SOB

I get it as part of my tv package. Wouldn’t pay for it or any other service on it’s own.

  • SOB

The TV series are good. Poor movie choices though. Would love to see Lost and X-Files as part of the lineup.

  • Quattro

Doesn’t really matter does it? He’s made lots of movies. Therefore, your “Hahaha” at the people searching for him is completely unjustified. You’re acting as if you can only find all his stuff on Netflix – which is completely wrong.

  • FragilityG4

It is the irony of using Shomi to search for a Netflix personal that is humorous. If you don’t get it I understand. Not everyone can lighten up and laugh at all things funny. I’m guessing you don’t search for Sandler films. ????

  • Quattro

Wow… it’s as if you will say anything, no matter how absurd, just to avoid admitting you screwed up and thought all of Sandler’s films were exclusive to Netflix.

  • FragilityG4

You just are too serious and can’t laugh at things. The irony is funny no matter how small it might be. If you can’t lighten up and let this go … I pity you. Nevertheless, I will continue to smile and laugh … nine at of ten doctors say it’s the secret to long life!

  • Quattro

Oh, I’m laughing all right. Just not at the same thing.

  • FragilityG4

Hey if I can make people laugh in any capacity, whether it’s pointing out irony or exposing ones ignorance, then my job is done. ????
