A new report from Chinese publication Sina Tech claims to have the goods on upcoming iPhone 6 models, as the 4.7-inch version will be called “iPhone Air”, while the larger 5.5-inch model is said to be named “iPhone Pro”. Previous rumours have pegged the 5.5-inch model to be called “iPhone 6L”.

It is understood that the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 of 16GB, 32GB, 64GB version priced at 5288 yuan, 6088 yuan, 6888 yuan, 5.5-inch iPhone 6 three versions priced at 6288 yuan, 7088 yuan, 7688 yuan.

Among them, the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 eventually named or iPhone Air, while the 5.5-inch version is called the iPhone Pro.

Earlier today, we reported the poster seen above was released by China Unicom, allegedly leaking Chinese iPhone 6 entry pricing, with available coming on September 19. China Mobile is also seen to be taking iPhone 6 reservations, asking customers to choose between 4.7 and 5.5 inch models on its landing page, which has already surpassed 23,000 users opting in.

As for capacities, the report claims again 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions, with no mentions of a 128GB model many people are hoping for (despite previous rumours of a 128GB 5.5-inch version).

Pricing also was leaked, with the entry 4.7-inch model to start at 5288 yuan ($860 USD), while the entry 5.5-inch model will start at 6288 yuan ($1022 USD).

Also, Apple is said to debut an 8GB iPhone 5s model as the lower cost entry model, echoing earlier rumours by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

What do you think about these rumoured names for the next iPhones? Could Apple finally lose the number moniker for its iPhones, following in the footsteps of the iPad?

Apple is expected to announce two new iPhone 6 models and a wearable device at its September 9 media event.
