MG Siegler: Apple Rumoured to Release TV-Related Product, Possibly in November

Could Apple be holding a TV-related event or released a product as soon as November? That appears to be the word on the street according to MG Siegler, speaking on episode 51 of John Gruber’s podcast, The Talk Show (via Business Insider).

Not to go into rumor central here but the latest things like I’ve heard are some sort of television product — not necessarily a television screen but something — could be coming as soon as this November. And I think there’s some surprises there about what it could actually be and I don’t for sure what it could actually be but there’s been whispers about, so I’m not going to write anything about it, but there’s whispers out there that the interaction with it could be the interesting thing. People have talked about voice, but I think that’s out the window and there might be some new way to interact with whatever this thing is.

Siegler still has his connections from his days of reporting about Apple on TechCrunch and he says some sort of TV-related event could be coming in November, according to what he’s hearing. Of course, these whispers aren’t sold enough for him to actually write about it but rather mention it casually on Gruber’s podcast.

Apple is set to hold an iPhone event on September 10 and most likely another separate event for iPads in October. Could we actually see a third event related to a TV product in November? That would almost seem like overkill for a season of product releases, unless it’s for a revamped Apple TV.

Apple CEO Tim Cook has reiterated numerous times this year the company is set to release “amazing new products” in the fall and across 2014. iPhones, iPads, refreshed Macs, Mac Pro….TV product? That seems like it would be too much in such a short period of time. No leaks or other whispers have pointed to a TV-related product so take this rumour with a grain of salt.
