Steve Jobs Biopic to Debut This Weekend at 42nd Telluride Film Festival
The Apple community was not expecting the next Steve Jobs biopic to premiere until October 9 – as suggested by the date revealed in the official trailer – but it turns out the anticipated movie will debut this weekend at the 42nd Telluride Film Festival, as reported by Entertainment Weekly (via MacRumors).
There is no official date yet, but the festival runs from September 4 through September 7, so it could air on any of those days.
On the official Telluride Film Festival website we find that the director of the Steve Jobs movie, Danny Boyle, will also receive one of the 2015 Silver Medallion Awards in recognition of his significant contribution to the world of cinema.
“We are thrilled to present such an exhilarating, diverse program for the 42nd Telluride Film Festival,” said executive director Julie Huntsinger. “This year was an abundance of riches, particularly within the documentary category, and we feel privileged to celebrate these films and their artists with our audience in one of the most beautiful locations in the world.”
Since the date of the premiere has changed to the weekend before Apple announces the new iPhones and Apple TV, we will likely see the movie rolling out in theaters earlier than expected.
