thunderst0rm is Fake

Everyone is patiently waiting for the next jailbreak tool to be released. We’ve seen some great videos from the hacker we trust, (iPhone Dev Team, Geohot), so we know they are on the way, we’re just not sure when. It is expected that the next tools will jailbreak all devices on iPhone OS 3.1.3, and the iPad at OS 3.2. My own prediction is that we will see the new tools, once they have been tested on the iPad 3G. 😉

A Swiss hacker team, calling themselves “thunderst0rm”, claimed to have their own jailbreak/unlock tool, for iPhone OS 3.1.3 and baseband 05.12.01, which they released today. If you have been following this, you know that they have released a few videos showing their tool working. They were somewhat believable, to the untrained eye, but they never looked quite right. After some testing by the iH8sn0w team, it turns out that this tool is a complete fake. All this does, is run some text on the screen. It does not even communicate with any Apple touch device.

Please do not download their tool, as it is a big waste of time. These kids are just looking for some attention. If you want to learn more about them, you can Google it yourself. We will not provide links to them, from here.
