Yeah. They screwed up. Now ditch apple maps and work with google to improve google maps and have it as a native iOS app. Google btw is not listening to anyone and they’re doing horrible things with their products. If any one can get through to Google it’s Apple.

  • Yeah. Google maps is just so far ahead, just look at Street View’s undertaking. The problem is Apple doesn’t want to rely on Google if it’s their native maps app. So right now it works well as Google Maps for iOS just keeps getting better.

Google has such a head start on Maps that it would be interesting to see if Apple can catch up at all. It would be interesting to see how the two maps work on the Apple Watch !

Google ditched Apple. Apple wanted to add turn by turn and live navigation to the map program but GOOGLE would not allow them to do that. Apple would still use Google maps IF Google would allow them to use turn by turn navigation on the device.

  • Lets just hope the pre-orders for iPhone 6 reach the right continent!

Wow, that’s fucked up. Then why not go with Mapquest then?

Just curious. In what way have you seen iOS maps get better? I know they recently updated some local maps that were updated by Google a few years ago. However, to me that doesn’t count and most importantly, their traffic info sucks.

On the other side of the coin, Google maps is starting to suck. Lately, it’s giving some crazy directions, searches don’t find POIs that are there, no Favorites renaming, and of course, their desktop version is frustrating. I use their classic version.

I used to use Google Maps almost exclusively, however, I have noticed that the “Navigation” on google maps does not work in all countries. For example, while driving in Eastern Europe, Google Maps will not navigate, but Apple Maps would…. So sometimes, Apple Maps works in places where Google Maps just does not.
