UberEATS Launches in Calgary [u]

UberEATS is launching in Calgary today, bringing the delivery of food from over 70 of the city’s favourite restaurants, explains Uber in a press release.

The company will be unveiling the service at 10AM local time, with Dan Park, General Manager for UberEATS in Canada, set to announce to the media at restaurant Royale Brasserie. This is the second city for UberEATS in Alberta, as the delivery service launched a year ago in Edmonton.

With the UberEATS iOS app, customers can order and pay for food from restaurants and have them delivered.

Last month, UberEATS launched in Montreal. The service is also available in Ottawa and Toronto.

Update: “By partnering with more than 70 local Calgary restaurants, we are proud to help Calgarians order food from their favorites restaurants – at the push of a button. Beyond great meals, UberEATS creates new flexible economic opportunities for restaurant and delivery partners that will benefit Calgary’s economy,” said Dan Park, Canada UberEATS General Manager, in a statement.
