What’s New in iOS 11.3 Beta 2 [VIDEO]

Earlier this week, Apple released iOS 11.3 beta 2 for developers and public beta testers. The major addition to this update was the introduction of the Battery Health (beta) feature, which informs users about battery life and whether their iPhone 6 or newer is seeing the new reduced performance ‘feature’, which can be disabled.

  • Many third party app crashes fixed
  • iCloud for Messages: new warning prompt when deleting a conversation
  • Animoji: record button now sits slightly lower
  • New ClassKit framework
  • Podcasts app: now plays podcast instead of jumping into settings
  • Music player widget: now supports volume controls per device
  • Third party Bluetooth car adapters now register as cars and enable ‘last left location’ in Apple Maps
  • True Black background option in Books app
  • Safari: bookmarks folders now show tiny thumbnails of favicons
  • Safari: now warns ‘Website Not Secure’ when logging into a site with HTTPS
  • Apple ID single sign-on for websites
  • Apple Music: option to go to artist page or album page
  • App Store: now shows date of your app downloads in Purchased tab
  • App Store: new icon to ‘confirm’ downloads when using Face ID on iPhone X; “Confirm with Side Button”
  • App Store: clicking on an app’s category brings you to top charts for category
