What’s New in iOS 11.4 Beta 1: AirPlay 2, Messages in iCloud and More [VIDEO]

Yesterday Apple released iOS 11.4 beta 1 for developers, along with other first betas of watchOS, tvOS and macOS.

Today, iOS 11.4 was released for Public Beta testers, along with tvOS 11.4.

What’s new in iOS 11.4 beta 1? Not a whole lot, but the major changes include the return of AirPlay 2 and Messages in iCloud. AirPlay 2 allows users to stream music to multiple audio sources simultaneously, allowing one to have the same music playing through their house.

Messages in iCloud allows your backups to be stored in the cloud, resulting in space saved on your local device, while also syncing deleted messages as well.

As for other new discoveries in iOS 11.4 beta, there is again reference to HomePod Stereo Pairing, but it doesn’t work for now, until a beta version of software arrives for Apple’s smart speaker.

iOS 11.4 beta also includes ClassKit, Apple’s latest framework for developers to build education apps to support the new Schoolwork iPad app, which lets teachers assign specific assignments within apps.
