I was a little disappointed that no cloud syncing was announced. With the phone being not so secret I was looking for apple to throw a surprise at us. A little bit of a bummer.
With us in the late release date along with Australia and hong kong leads me to believe that we could possibly see a factory unlocked phone. Or maybe it's just wishful thinking.
If I don't end up signing my wife up and giving her my 3GS I will probably buy a factory unlocked iPhone 4 from Australia and have a friend ship it to me. (that's of of course if Canada doesn't receive them). It adds a higher resale value.
I like your thinking about the factory unlocked phone. It makes no sense to have them locked here in Canada anymore. But you know our carriers, they'll probably demand it, and Apple will probably lock them so that Americans don't stream across the border to get an unlocked phone.
