The only way to buy when companies do not ship to Canada is using that company called www.shipito.com which I used in the past. They send everything you need.

Thanks for the reply. When I meant from scratch I meant just me, a mac, an sdk (official or whatever), an an iPhone – ie writing your own jb program. However this book does seem to have good tips on performance tweaking after you jb so I'll pick it up.

From my experience using CoPilot in Vancouver (I drove to Langley
testing CoPilot) and Victoria, it worked well for me without any
problems. Also, testing it versus TomTom and GMap Canada it worked the
best for ME. I can't speak for the rest of Canada.

I have a couple of friends who have CoPilot here in Edmonton – and it's terrible. Even the updates haven't fixed the problems. It rarely locates my friends and has a hard time mapping routes properly.
Maybe it works better in other cities.

You say Copilot is your favourite GPS program. Almost all the reviews in the Canadian iTunes store say the maps are woefully inadequate. Why do you think your experience has been so different?
I am seriously interested in buying this app but so many Canadian commentators say it is virtually useless here.
