Canadians Rejoice: The Hockey News iPhone App is Here

Share:

For sports fanatics out there, you have a few options as to how to keep track of scores and stats on your iPhone. However, if you’re Canadian the only sport that should matter to you is none other than baseball–kidding! Of course I’m talking about hockey and nothing but hockey. When the puck drops to start the NHL season, it also marks the beginning of 10 billion hockey pools in the Great White North.

For those iPhone users that want to track how their office pools are doing The Hockey News has released a dedicated NHL hockey scores and stats app. The app is free in the App Store and offers a variety of information at your fingertips. You can read up on NHL blogs, check scores, standings and read recaps.

Here are a few screenshots of the app:

The Hockey News NHL app is best viewed in landscape mode as that will let you see all the stats on the stats sheet. Now you can feed your hockey pool desires all the time in a dedicated hockey app. As you can see from the screenshots above, it’s just a friendly recap of the bludgeoning the Vancouver Canucks took via the San Jose Sharks the earlier in the week. Well done, boys!

For all the hockey freaks out there, what sports app are you currently using to keep track of things?

just noticed the THN app the other day and downloaded it, but haven’t fully explored it yet. SportsTap is what I mainly use to keep on top of the NHL – I like its uncluttered (and ad-free!) look. I also use WunderRadio to to listen to streaming live broadcasts of the games when I’m traveling or otherwise not near a TV/radio or computer.

p.s. if you update your screenshot to yesterday’s games you can of course show the Canucks beating the Sens 3-0 instead 🙂

Not a bad App, but ScoreMobile has a more comprehensive model for NHL (more info and better organized). The SM interface is also more pleasing to me. Hockey news has some work to do if they want me to become a user if their App.
    Just my 2cents.
